Application Process

The Application

All future Penn State students must apply for admission by creating a MyPennState account. MyPennState is your one-stop shop for customizing your Penn State admissions experience.  By creating an account, you will be able to apply online, receive customized messages, schedule campus visits, and check the status of your application. To begin a new application or review an application started previously login to the MyPennState system.

Application Process and Deadlines

Penn State has rolling admissions, which means there is no deadline for applying. However, we recommend that applications for first-year students be submitted by November 30 and as soon as possible prior to the desired semester for transfer students.  Applications for first year students will be accepted after Nov. 30 start date, but as admissions criteria rise throughout the academic year, it may become more difficult to gain acceptance to your first-choice campus or academic program.

When you apply to Penn State, you will need to submit:

  • $65 non-refundable application fee
  • Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR), which is part of the online application
  • Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended, including coursework in progress or planned (if applicable)
  • Official SAT or ACT scores (for first-year students only)
